Eels Road - Carey's Corner
Traveling eastbound from Cashmere, the highway ran down what is now Cottage Ave. After crossing the Wenatchee River, the highway continued east and used to connect to what is now called Eels Road. The highway then curved onto what is now Mt. Stuart Dr. and crosses U.S. 2 and connected to Old Monitor Road.
Between Cashmere and Monitor there are 2 sections of original Sunset Highway concrete pavement. One section is on Mt Stuart Dr. and the other is on Carey's Corner. I also found a dated slab near the Old Indian Cemetery, dated 9-10-20.

Looking East. The dated slab is in the road where I am standing taking this photo. The old pavement ends just behind me and becomes new asphalt. This old alignment used to connect to Cary's Corner and continue into Monitor. |
Looking northwest. You can see the old alignment on the other side of the newer road. Heading towards the dated slab. 
Looking southeast. This is in the same spot as the above picture just looking the opposite way. 
Looking west. This is where the old concrete starts as you continue west toward the old cemetery.
